LEBANON, Pa. — The Lebanon County Holstein Association has scheduled its field night for Friday, August 15 at Reeds-Creek Farm, 17 Reeds Creek Road, Annville, Pa. The event will begin with a meal prepared by Country Home Catering and served from 6:15 to 8:00 p.m.
Reeds-Creek Farm is owned and operated by Brent and Lawanda Hostetter. They purchased the cows from Lawanda’s father in 2001 and bought the farm in 2010. At that time, they built a slatted free stall heifer barn and then in 2014 they built a new calf barn. In July of 2024, they built an addition at the end of the main barn and installed two robotic milking units.
The 85-cow herd is mostly Holsteins with 15 Jerseys and three Ayrshires. Their RHA reads: 25,700M 1010F and 800P. Two cows are classified Excellent, 17 are Very Good and 16 are scored Good Plus.
As Brent and Lawanda make decisions on the dairy, they remain focused on creating opportunities for future generations. They have five children, each very involved in production agriculture, and three grandchildren that are being raised to appreciate all that the dairy community has to offer.
The meal is sponsored by generous local donors. Dairy judging will be held during the meal. Please bring your lawn chair and enjoy a night of fellowship, good food, judging, door prizes and fun.
