SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The New York Dairy Issues Management Team will host its second free media training session for dairy farmers and industry representatives on Thursday, April 30th. The location is Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Genesee County Office, 420 E. Main Street, Batavia from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with lunch provided. Registration is required at least one week prior.

Participants will receive on-camera practice with constructive feedback, interviewing best practices, and tips for effective preparation and messaging. Registration is required.

Former Syracuse TV anchor and reporter, Keith Kobland, will lead each training. Kobland is the current associate director of media relations and broadcast journalism professor at Syracuse University who has worked extensively with New York dairy farmers and promoters.

“Our trainings provide the tools to help dairy farmers and industry partners build their confidence when speaking with the media,” said American Dairy Association North East Director of Consumer Confidence Beth Meyer. “Being prepared for these opportunities will help build consumer trust in dairy, especially during a crisis.”
