Susquehanna County’s young dairy promoters enjoyed their trip to school

MONTROSE, Pa. — Susquehanna County Dairy Promotion Team and volunteers recently read Dr. Seuss’ book “Cows Can Moo? Can You?” to kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students. Then we played a game of matching picture cards such as tomatoes, yogurt, milk, and more dairy products to the large card where the products came from.

We gave out cheese sticks for the students to enjoy a healthy dairy snack. We also gave out bracelets, pencils and coloring books to the classrooms.

I liked giving out a cheese snack and watching the students’ eyes light up as we gave them something they had just learned about.

A big thank you to Mr. Soden at the Susquehanna Community Elementary School for allowing us to do this promotion. I would also thank Dave DeLeon who attended representing Susquehanna County Farm Bureau.

We look forward to doing this promotion again and many more.
