BUTLER, Pa. — Butler County’s new dairy royalty court was introduced on May 24th. This court, which is made up of young ladies, ages 5 to 24, is tasked to attend various events throughout the county, visiting fairs, schools, and festivals promoting the importance of the local dairy industry.

Their promotions highlight the remaining 22 Butler County dairy farms and educate the public on how farmers work hard to provide fresh, quality dairy products, all while supporting the community, raising their animals, and maintaining their land responsibly and sustainably.

The court is represented by the following:

• Dairy ambassador: Mercedes Guynup of Butler, daughter of Marybeth Guynup.

• Dairy maids: Margaret LeViere of Portersville, daughter of Lisa and Shawn LeViere; and Emmalyn Schaffner of Butler, daughter of Katharine and Jonathon Schaffner.

• Dairy misses: Elizabeth LeViere of Portersville, daughter of Lisa and Shawn LeViere; and Lydia Ambrose of Fenelton, daughter of Anne and Lee Ambrose.

• Lil’ Dairy Miss: Haleigh Salkeld of Cabot, daughter of Kylie and Chris Salkeld.

As well as crowning the new court at their pageant, the Butler County Dairy Promotion Team, with support from Butler Fair Queen Morgan Teets, made a $2261 donation to Marburger Farm Dairy. This money will provide the Six Points Food Pantry access to fresh fluid milk and other dairy products through their processing plant. The dairy donation not only benefits local consumers but also local dairy farmers who ship to Marburger’s.
