LEBANON, Pa. — It was a hot day for cattle and people alike for the Brown Swiss National Convention Sale at the Lebanon, Fairgrounds on June 26. At the end of the day 85 lots averaged $4305 going to 14 states as well as Canada and the Netherlands.
First in the ring and high seller at $20,500 was Top Acres Dare Willow-ET, a VG89/90MS 2-year old. Willow sports a top-notch pedigree with Daredevil as her sire and the World Dairy Expo champion, Top Acres Supreme Wizard (3E-95) as her dam. Consignors of this outstanding 2-year old were Dr. Alan and Thomas “Moss” McCauley of Lowell, Mich. Dr. Kenny Joe & Kelly Jo Manion of Glasgow, Ky. were the buyers.
Second high selling individual at $15,500 was Fairdale Daredevil Talia ETV, the grand champion at the Northeast Spring Show for her consignor Peter Vail of Valatie, N.Y. Dr. Kenny Joe and Kelly Jo Manion of Kentucky also purchased this winning young cow.
Modern Associates managed the sale and made selections from across the country. Adam Fraley handled auctioneering duties and teamed up with Wayne Sliker, who covered the pedigrees and announcements. Brian Garrison headed up the ringmen and sales force including Norman Magnussen, Joe Sparrow, Bryan Champluvier, Jake Hushon. Gina Fraley clerked the event and Tyler Endres headed up the preparation crew. Kathi Brown-Meier, Becky Korth, Hannah Balthaser, Liz Gross, Rowdy Pope, and Dakota Voegeli-Paulson presented the cattle in the sale ring.
