MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Orange County will host its 28th Annual Orange County 4-H Calf & Livestock Sale on Saturday, May 9 at the Education Center & 4-H Park, 300 Finchville Turnpike, Otisville, N.Y. starting at 5 p.m.

The Calf & Livestock Sale, yearly, is the largest annual fundraiser that the Orange County 4-H Livestock & Dairy programs put on. Through this fundraising event, the Orange County 4-H Dairy & Livestock programs are able to provide programming and other educational opportunities to 4-H members. Parents, volunteers, agriculture businesses, and partners help to hold this fundraising event every year. Items up for auction include:

Live auctions: Animal consignments, including high quality dairy heifers, beef calves, sheep, goats, rabbits, pigs, and chickens. Highlighted consignments last year included Reyncrest Holsteins, Willow-Terrace, Gold-Bar Holsteins, Spring Run Dairy, and more. This year’s live auction is being hosted by Hosking Sales LLC.

Silent auction: Country décor, livestock related items, gift certificates, and more.

Off the block items: Flowers, farm supplies, equipment, homemade projects by 4-H members, and more.

The Sale also provides an evening for local dairy and livestock farmers and businesses to get together, converse, and promote their agricultural businesses and practices.
